A big thank you to everyone for supporting us, making our venture so successful, and keeping our village pub alive

Visit the Pub Website HERE

The Lowther Arms is a traditional country pub in the heart of Mawbray village, close to the sea on the Solway Plain in north-west Cumbria. Set in peaceful countryside and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site Buffer Zone, we are surrounded by stunning views of the Lakes and Scotland.

Although tenanted, The Lowther Arms is a cooperative and community-owned pub, saved from permanent closure and conversion to a house by the local community and over 300 shareholders.

After being closed for two and a half years, the pub re-opened in June 2021, and is now more than a pub – offering a comfortable place to have a drink, enjoy a meal, meet with friends, or simply a quiet corner to read in. Whether you are a local, a visitor, walker, or cyclist, come and relax in our lovely pub with its beer garden and stunning views of the Lake District.

Our 4-pitch caravan site is open and booking is highly advisable.  We have 3 pitches for tourers and motorhomes, a Pod, plus camping.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar, conservatory and beer garden.

We look forward to seeing you!

Seaglass Coffee Allonby is a great new business recently opened in our neighbouring village, Allonby.
The whole team and community volunteers have worked extremely hard to make a fantastic place to stop off for breakfast or just a coffee!
They would absolutely love your support, so pop along and pay them a visit, we know they would really appreciate it.
Follow their page from the tag above to see what’s new.
We at The Lowther Arms Mawbray wish them every success for the future.

Well what can we say! What an amazing night for our Halloween/Bonfire night quiz!
The best turnout yet and another £70 raised for the play park in Mawbray.
Thank you to everyone that came to support us and for the effort in dressing up for the night. Even the staff didn’t look too shabby!
Here’s to the next one and it’s going to be epic!
Christmas charity night where proceeds go to Great North Air Ambulance and Mawbray play park.
Christmas quiz is currently fully booked but if you’d like to go on our waiting list then give us a call and we will let you know of any cancellations.
Extra special quiz also planned for January 7th but we can’t give away too much about that one just yet. 🤔🤐🤫

I would hope that the fireworks are not from the event at the pub. It is disgraceful that they are allowed in this area were farm animals and wildlife are prevalent people should be ashamed. Ray
